Pillayan remanded again .

The Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court today (13) ordered the remand of former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias ‘Pillayan’, who has been arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, until July 24.

The suspect was produced before Batticaloa Magistrate A. Darshini today via video conferencing technology and this order was given there.

The former State Minister was remanded in this manner in connection with a case filed by the Criminal Investigation Department in the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court in connection with five murders that occurred in several areas of the Batticaloa district in 2008.
