Parliamentarian Chamara Sampath Dassanayake said that he is not afraid of being imprisoned or wearing a jumper since even the greatest leaders who ruled the world have eaten prison food.
He stated this while participating in the establishment of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Passara Electoral Council. The MP also said that a true and successful leader is born after ‘eating prison food’.
Expressing further views there, the MP said,
“They tell me that the next person to wear the jumper is you. I say, ‘Go blind.’ I have no problem. People who have been in prisons longer than me have ruled this world. Nelson Mandela was in prison for 28 years. Every leader in this world has eaten prison food. A successful man is a man who comes back after eating prison food.”
