Rakhitha and Charith remanded.

Lawyer Rakhitha Rajapaksa, who was arrested and remanded by the Bribery Commission, Samagi Jana Balawegaya Horana Electoral Organizer Charith Abeysinghe, and Aruna Sri Chathuranga, who worked as a former director of the Civil and Civil Aviation Authority Airports and Aviation Sri Lanka Limited, have been remanded until the 17th.

This was after the three suspects were produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today.

The three were arrested on the 25th in connection with an incident in which they allegedly received a bribe of Rs. 1.2 billion to bribe officers of the Criminal Investigation Department to have Nadun Chinthaka, alias ‘Harak Kata’, an organized criminal, separated from detention orders under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and sent to a separate prison.
