Do not fall victim to foreign employment scams that exploit the minister’s name.

Manusha Nanayakkara, the Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment, has emphasized that individuals should not provide any money to anyone who solicits funds for overseas employment using his name or falsely claiming to be his brother, relative, or staff member. He clearly states that he bears no responsibility for any such transactions.

The minister affirms that he has no involvement whatsoever in such activities, and he declares that neither his family members nor any officials from his ministry are engaged in the operation of foreign employment agencies.

Reports indicate that illegal schemes for collecting money are operating in various locations across the island, deceiving individuals by promising foreign job opportunities. The minister is taking active measures to intervene and enforce stringent legal actions against such illicit activities. He emphasizes that he does not support or endorse these smugglers in any way.

It is important to note that individuals can only be sent for foreign jobs through registered foreign employment agencies recognized by the Foreign Employment Bureau. The public has been advised to exclusively contact those authorized agencies.
