The OIC of the Traffic Division of the Yatiyantota Police, who was arrested by the Tawakapura Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau for the misplacement of his official firearm, has been produced before the Ruwanwella Magistrate’s Court and remanded until the 30th.
It is reported that the OIC in question had taken a pistol-type firearm and 10 bullets with him when he left for official duties on the 26th and had not returned them. Accordingly, he was arrested yesterday following an investigation.
