What happened to the restaurant in Port City that sold alcohol illegally?

A restaurant in Port City, Colombo, has been fined Rs. 285,000 for selling foreign liquor without a license. This was in a case filed against the restaurant by the Excise Department before the Colombo Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court.

The court has also ordered the confiscation of nearly a hundred bottles of foreign liquor seized from the restaurant. The restaurant was opened in Port City, Colombo about three years ago and has not obtained a license to sell alcohol since then.
