Investigating officers suspect that the death of the physiotherapist at the Ampara General Hospital, who is suspected of having died at a Nuwara Eliya lodge, was due to strangulation. Meanwhile, the police are seeking public assistance in searching for her boyfriend, who is suspected of having committed the murder, but the suspect has not yet been found.
However, the investigating officers have been able to uncover a lot of information regarding the suspect.
Although this suspect appeared before the girl as Dineth Dissanayake, the police say that his real name is Jayasundara Mudiyanselage Champika Sriyan Jayasundara and that he is a resident of the Narammala area.
The suspect also wore fake hair to hide his true appearance and it is reported that he had relationships with many young women.
It is said that there are cases pending against this person in the Gampaha, Aluthkade, Tissamaharama and other Magistrates’ Courts, and that complaints have been received against him for deceiving women and obtaining money.
The police suspect that the suspect, a 43-year-old father of three, is also being supported by his wife in these crimes.
Investigations are currently underway by three teams under the direct supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of the Nuwara Eliya Division, Samarakoon Banda.
