The Government of Japan has provided a financial grant of US$1.33 million to Sri Lanka to improve the living conditions of inland fishermen affected by Cyclone Ditva.
Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Marine Resources Ramalingam Chandrasekaran and Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akio Isomata signed the relevant official agreement on the 29th, under which technical training will be provided to the fishermen who will establish 200 fish cages in 30 selected reservoirs in the Eastern Province and free fish fry and fish feed for the first round of cultivation.
