A slow train running from Polgahawela to Colombo Fort derailed between Wanawasala and Hunupitiya this morning (16).
One carriage has overturned on the railway track due to the derailment. The running train has overturned on a parallel concrete track due to the derailment and the railway track has also been seriously damaged. It is reported that about 12 people have been injured in the accident.
