The Public Emergency declared by the President has been extended by another month and a gazette notification has been issued.
According to the notification issued by the Secretary to the President, Dr. N. S. Kumanayake, yesterday (28), all services related to the supply of electricity, distribution of fuel including petroleum products, gas, all services related to health services, public transport services and many other services will become essential services.
Considering the disaster situation caused by Cyclone Ditva, this state of emergency was imposed in the country to ensure public safety and the normal existence of the country and to maintain services.
