A group of MPs dissatisfied with the government has submitted a petition to Pelawatte

It is reported that a group of fifteen MPs representing the current government have submitted a letter to the Jathika Jana Balawegaya Party headquarters in Pelawatte expressing their dissatisfaction with the weaknesses of the current administration.

However, it is reported that this group does not include anyone representing the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and all of them have joined the Jathika Jana Balawegaya in recent times, representing the National Scholars Alliance and other parties.

This group includes two members of the Cabinet, three deputy ministers and several are backbench MPs. These backbench MPs have been deprived of opportunities to even address the media and have to approve every decision taken by the top leadership, political sources say.

Meanwhile, these MPs have also expressed their dissatisfaction with the pressure exerted by several Catholic religious leaders to require Deputy Minister Aruna Jayasekara to resign from his post until the investigation into the Easter attacks is completed.
