The Navy seized the multi-day fishing vessel during a special operation conducted in the deep sea south of Sri Lanka yesterday (16). Commenting on the drug haul, Deputy Minister of Defense Aruna Jayasekara said:

“We have information that the drugs were supplied by a foreign ship and accordingly we are now acting internationally. What I have been informed now is that the 150 kilograms is more than 400 million rupees if we take it in street money. It could be even more.”
