It is reported that a special discussion was held today (06) between Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Minister Sunil Handunnetti and the International Monetary Fund delegation.
It is reported that there was a lengthy exchange of views on the potential of the country’s industrial sector and the contribution of the industrial sector to economic stability.
In addition, the Minister explained to the delegation the problems faced by small and medium-sized enterprises and the policy decisions taken by the government to uplift them.
The importance of the industrial sector in the ongoing economic reform process has been appreciated by the IMF representatives.
Attention has also been focused on removing obstacles on the path to a productive economy, simplifying the export process and creating a favorable environment for foreign investment.
