Government accused of politicizing transfers

The Government Medical Officers Association says that the list of difficult workplaces has been reduced from 393 to 260 without any scientific basis and due to political needs. Issuing a statement, the association points out that the difficulties in those places have not decreased and remain the same.

This has caused great injustice to doctors and the threat of the workplaces that have been cut from this list will further increase, it states.

A number of the most difficult workplaces have been identified in the country and the only incentive given to doctors who are assigned to work in them is to obtain a transfer through a special ‘difficult workplace transfer list’ provided after one year of service.

The Government Medical Officers Association states that this incentive has been illegally extended to 02 years without any discussion or agreement of the stakeholders.

The association says that this action will severely unfairly treat doctors and if it does, the need for a special transfer list is also questionable.

The Government Medical Officers Association says that this is a decision taken to exploit doctors for purely political reasons, as they can also apply for annual transfers after 2 years of service.
