A student of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Colombo, who was taking a selfie at the edge of the world;s end in Horton Plains, has fallen off the cliff. A team including a driver of the forest park has managed to rescue her after a lot of effort.
A medical student fell about 50 feet into the cliff and, fortunately, she was hanging on to a branch of tree. At that time, a driver of the wild life park, who was in danger of his life, rescued her safely. After freeing her from the branch of the tree, the driver made her sit on a stone.
Later, with the help of Pattipola Police, the Army and the Police Special Task Force, she was taken to the Nuwara Eliya Hospital.
Several commandos attached to the Sri Lanka 3rd Lions Regiment in Nuwara Eliya, troops of the regiment, officers of the Nuwara Eliya Police Special Task Force, wildlife officers and the OIC of Pattipola Police, among others, contributed to her rescue.
