The Criminal Investigation Department has informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that retired Major General Suresh Salle has been named as the third suspect in the investigation into the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
The CID told Colombo Magistrate Isuru Netthikumara today (March 05) that Suresh Salle was arrested on February 25, 2026 in connection with the incident and is currently being interrogated under a 90-day detention order under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. The CID also informed the court that evidence has been uncovered as a result of the investigations conducted so far.
The CID informed the court by filing a motion.
