Retired Major General Suresh Sale, the former head of the State Intelligence Service, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The arrest was made in connection with the investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
It is reported that he was arrested this morning after information obtained during the CID investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks was presented to the court.
After recording a statement, Major General Suresh Sale is expected to be produced before the court. However, it is also reported that the authorities may seek a detention order under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
