The shooter in the shooting death of a lawyer and his wife in Akuregoda, Thalangama, and a person who allegedly provided them with transportation facilities have been identified, Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala said.
Speaking in Parliament today (20), the Minister said that necessary steps are being taken to arrest the suspects.
Speaking further, Minister Ananda Wijepala said:
“The vehicle involved in the crime was found burnt and destroyed in the Baddegama area. The vehicle that came to provide the firearms for the crime has been arrested in the Kottawa area. Investigations have been initiated to arrest the vehicle that the shooters brought to the accommodation before committing the crime and its owner has now been identified. In addition, the suspect who fired the gun with a revolver for this murder has now been identified as Robert Suresh, a resident of No. 102/9, Temple Road, Rukgahawela. Extensive investigations have now been initiated to arrest him.”
