The Department of Census and Statistics says that there are more than 3,000 government schools with less than 10 teachers across the island.
According to data from the Department of Census and Statistics for the year 2025, the Department of Census and Statistics has indicated that there are 10,047 schools across the island, and 3,065 of those schools have less than 10 teachers. It is stated that one of those schools is a national school.
The Department of Census and Statistics also states that 1,645 government schools across the island have fewer than 50 children. The Department of Census and Statistics stated that among the government schools with fewer than 50 children, there is one national school and 1,644 provincial schools.
There are 1,648 government schools with between 51 and 100 children, and all of those schools are provincial schools.
Meanwhile, the number of children enrolled in government schools for Grade 1 in 2025 has decreased compared to 2024.
The Department of Census and Statistics states that 266,281 children were enrolled for Grade 1 in 2025.
