Former Minister Johnston Fernando, his two sons and two others have been remanded until February 13, it has been reported, by the Wattala Magistrate’s Court.
Johnston Fernando, his son Johan Fernando, his younger son Jerome Kenneth Fernando and two others have been arrested on charges of misusing a Sathosa vehicle during Johnston Fernando’s tenure as Trade Minister.
Investigations are currently underway into the misuse of state property, including a lorry belonging to Lanka Sathosa, and the former minister and his family have been accused of causing significant financial loss to the government.
