Apparel exports to rise in 2025.

Sri Lanka’s apparel export earnings have increased in December 2025.

Overall, export earnings in December showed an increase of $23.03 million compared to December 2024.

This is mainly due to the increase in demand from the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union.

With this increase in demand, Sri Lanka has been able to achieve higher profits in December, according to data released by the Joint Apparel Associations Forum (JAAF).

Exports to the United States in December 2025 increased by 6.49% compared to December 2024 and amounted to $178.29 million.

It is also stated that shipments to the European Union have increased by 6.76% and are worth $141 million, while exports to the United Kingdom have increased by 12.95% and are worth $55.12 million.

However, exports to other countries have decreased by 4.06% and are worth $72.8 million.

Accordingly, for the full year period from January to December 2025, total apparel and textile exports were $5.02 billion, compared to $4.76 billion in 2024.

Overall, Sri Lanka’s total exports in 2025 have increased by 5.42% and are worth $258.18 million.
