Asela Wickramarachchi of the National People’s Power Party, who held the position of Chairman of the Minuwangoda Urban Council, announced today that he will be stepping down from that position. He officially informed the council about this during the special session held today.
He said that he took this decision on his own accord and not due to any influence from any party, and that he is resigning after a short period of six months of service.
Mr. Wickramarachchi further stated that he has already officially reported his resignation to the National People’s Power Party.
