An Easter attack suspect seeks asylum in Britain.

An Islamic terrorist suspect questioned by Sri Lankan police in connection with the Easter attacks on April 21, 2019, is seeking asylum in the United Kingdom, British media reports say.

The suspect was arrested by Sri Lankan police in 2022 and released on bail before arriving in Britain, the media reports say.

He denies the charges against him and has told authorities in the country that he could face persecution and persecution if he were to return to his home country, as Sri Lankan police have gone to look for him.

The suspect has been identified anonymously by foreign media and his wife is said to have also applied for asylum with him.

The Home Office initially rejected the requests, but the suspect has appealed again and the case is now reportedly being retried.

The suicide bombings on Easter Sunday in 2019 killed 269 people, including six British nationals.
