The Government Medical Officers Association says it has decided to give 48 hours to those responsible for announcing solutions to the problems of doctors and the health system.
Issuing a statement, the Secretary of the association, Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, has stated that if solutions cannot be provided within 48 hours, it will be decided to resort to trade union action at the central committee meeting of the Government Medical Officers Association on the 26th.
The statement states that although the Government Medical Officers Association submitted relevant information and proposals to resolve the problems of doctors and the health service within a sufficient period of time before the budget was presented to Parliament, they were not taken into account, which is why the current crisis has arisen.
