The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, says that a program is underway to mislead children by including inappropriate sex education in the country’s school curriculum.
The Thero points out that the program is planned to be implemented through education reforms scheduled to begin from January next year under the influence of international organizations.
The Thero made this statement while participating in the opening of the renovated St. Stephen’s Church in Keenadeniya, Mirigama.
The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, further commented on the occasion.
“Now, a new course is being developed to provide sex education to young children from the sixth grade. Class teachers are going to be prepared for this. Conferences are going to be held. Is this education? What is this? Parents have that responsibility, right? Teach children about such things when necessary. Inform parents about the method of teaching certain things to children as they grow older. Among these, we are going to raise awareness especially about homosexual relationships. We are going to raise awareness about birth control. Behind all of this are international organizations that are trying to destroy our country. Among them, in particular, is the United Nations Family Planning Association, UNFPA. They are giving money to this government, giving money to the Ministry of Education, printing the necessary books, and a program is being implemented in Sri Lanka today to mislead these children.”
