Monk on fast to restore security removed from Mahinda .

Rathupaswala Theripahala Siridhamma, a monk, has begun a fast in Tangalle this afternoon (08) protesting the government’s decision to remove the security of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The fast began at around 1.00 pm in front of the D.S. Senanayake statue near the Carlton House in Tangalle.

The monk has called for the restoration of security to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa as well as other former presidents, and has stated that the decision to remove the security of a former head of state who served the country is unacceptable and poses a risk to his security.
