25% of the budget goes to the President. The least amount will be allocated to Wasantha Amarasinghe.

It is reported that 25.19% of the total government expenditure for the year 2026 has been allocated to the ministries under the President.

Accordingly, the total government expenditure is Rs. 4434 billion, of which the total amount allocated to the Ministry of Finance and Planning, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Defense and the Presidential Secretariat is Rs. 1117 billion.

Out of which, the highest amount has been allocated to the Ministry of Defense. That amount is Rs. 648 billion.

Among the ministries, the lowest amount has been allocated to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Rural Development, which is headed by Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe. That amount is Rs. 2.7 billion.
