The Court of Appeal today (4) issued an interim order temporarily suspending a trial being held at the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court against Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security, retired Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne.
The trial against Mr. Ravi Seneviratne is being held on charges including failing to prevent a drunk driving accident in 2023.
Accordingly, this order has been issued after considering a petition filed by Mr. Ravi Seneviratne before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court requesting an order to transfer the case against him to another court.
