A gazette notification has been issued temporarily suspending the registration of the National Associations of Athletics, Table Tennis and Gymnastics with effect from yesterday. This gazette notification has been issued in accordance with Sections 32 and 33 of the Sports Act No. 25 of 1973.
Accordingly, the administrative and supervisory functions of the three relevant associations have been placed under the Secretary to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
