Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Hansaka Wijayamuni says that although there are companies that offer the Papaverine vaccine, an essential drug for heart surgery, for about 370 rupees, they will not participate in government tenders.
He also said that he is in direct discussions with governments to purchase the vaccine for that price. Accordingly, he said that the vaccine will have to be purchased from suppliers for 40,000 to 50,000 rupees this time alone.
