An audit report issued by the National Audit Office reveals that a formal procedure has not been followed to recover the amount of Rs. 240,944,708 due to breach of bonds and agreements of the University of Peradeniya.
The report states that this amount, which was to be recovered for the period from 02 to 52 years, had not been recovered as of September 30 of the previous year (2024).
It is said that the University of Peradeniya has informed the audit officers that it is scheduled to calculate the balances of the provident funds and bond values of these officials and make a request to the University Grants Commission for the relevant recoveries.
