HNB General Insurance (HNBGI), a leading player in Sri Lanka’s general insurance sector, recently hosted its annual flagship event, ‘Celebrating Excellence 2025’, at Waters Edge, Battaramulla. The evening brought together staff and sales professionals from across the country in a unified celebration of dedication and achievement. HNBA and HNBGI Chairman Stuart Chapman graced the event as Chief Guest, joined by members of the Board of Directors – reinforcing the company’s belief that people are the true engine behind its continued growth.
This year’s gathering marked a meaningful chapter in HNB General Insurance’s journey, recognizing not just business performance, but also the shared values, resilience, and commitment that drive the organization forward. The event celebrated team spirit across every level – from front-line sales to back-office support – highlighting the unity that powers HNBGI.
Alongside the Platinum Club Sales Awards, which recognized 24 top achievers across national, zonal, cluster, and branch levels, the company also presented Long Service Awards to employees who have demonstrated years of loyalty and dedication. Chairman’s Awards were conferred on individuals who showcased exceptional leadership, innovation, or impact – further underscoring HNB General Insurance’s culture of appreciation.
Adding to the celebrations, four Special Awards recognized outstanding accomplishments beyond traditional metrics. These included the HNBGI Cricket Team, champions of the MCA Division ‘G’ Tournament; Vimukthi Gamage, for representing Sri Lanka in the Rugby World Cup Asia Qualifiers; the HNBGI Quiz Team, winners of the Inter-Insurance/Broker Company Quiz Competition; and the In.She Woman Icon Award, presented under the company’s `In.She` initiative for female empowerment.

These elite achievers were honoured with plaques, certificates, gifts, and exclusive recognition, reaffirming the company’s strong performance culture.
