The National Police Commission has decided to dismiss former Director of the State Intelligence Service Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena from the police service.
He was the head of the National Intelligence Service at the time of the Easter attacks and was accused of failing to prevent the attacks despite receiving information. It was decided to dismiss him from the police service after he was found guilty in a disciplinary investigation conducted in this regard.
