According to the results of the Colombo Municipal Council elections, the majority of the people of Colombo have decided that it is not appropriate to give power to the current government, says Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna General Secretary and Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam.
Taking that situation into consideration, he further said that the current government will not be allowed to establish power in the Colombo Municipal Council. He stated this during a press conference held at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna headquarters on Nelum Mawatha, Battaramulla today.
He stated that as a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna party, he is curious about the steps taken by other opposition parties and parties that have obtained a majority in this regard and that he has no problem in providing the necessary support to a force opposing the government.
He further said that he will support any party or group to establish power only by keeping the public opinion in mind.
