A group of stakeholders who were aggrieved by the On Max DT pyramid financial investment incident are currently holding a protest in front of the Central Bank.
They are requesting that the injustice they have suffered be addressed and the relevant compensation mechanism be formalized.
Gayan Wickramathilaka, a computer engineer who was arrested in Dubai in connection with the investigations conducted into the On Max DT pyramid financial investment incident, was recently brought to the island and was later remanded until March 7th.
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has been warning the public for some time not to be fooled by pyramid schemes and that they do not have the legal authority to accept deposits.
