A small child in the yard of a preschool in the Horonpothana area has died after a branch from a nearby tree fell on him. Police reports say that the injured child died yesterday (16) after being admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.
The deceased is a 5-year-old boy named R.K. Nesadu Dulash Perera, a resident of Horowwothana, Morakewa, Elapathwewa.
The police say that the child was playing after finishing preschool on the 12th when a branch from a tree fell and the accident occurred. At that time, the parents of the children were attending a meeting held in the preschool.
