Union leaders avoid declaring assets and liabilities.

The Labor Ministry says that the union leaders have not yet provided asset and liability statements. Secretary of the Ministry R.P. Wimalaweera who commented further on this, said that the trade union leaders were previously notified to provide asset liability statements, but no response has been received so far.

According to the Asset Liability Act, it is mandatory for union leaders of state and semi-state institutions to submit their asset liability statements to the Secretary of the Ministry of Labour.
