The efforts to bring the two strong criminals Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne aka Harak Kata and Salindu Malshitha Gunaratne aka Panadure Kudu Salidu, who are arrested in an operation by the country’s security forces in Madagascar, to Sri Lanka are being delayed because of the plane bringing these two criminals. Police information revealed that the flight schedule has not been provided by the concerned airline so far.
These two criminals had to be brought to Sri Lanka by an ordinary passenger plane. For that purpose, in the discussions with the airlines, most of those companies have submitted a number of conditions by making a security assessment. Some airlines have made it a condition that only one criminal can be brought on board. Also, the row of seats where the criminal is staying and the front row of seats have to be left empty of passengers, so a condition has also been imposed that payment should be made for those seats as well. Overcoming this challenge, efforts are being made to bring these two criminals to Sri Lanka as soon as possible because there may be a risk that they cannot be brought back to Sri Lanka based on the arguments presented by the lawyers appearing on behalf of the criminals.
