Police sources say that two mobile phones and two passports belonging to Harak Kata and Kudu Salindu , who is accused of drug trafficking and organized crime and detained on detention orders, have gone missing while in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department. It is reported that the Terrorist Investigation Division and the Police Headquarters Special Investigation Unit have started investigations in this connection.
These two phones and documents were in the custody of two officers of the Criminal Investigation Department when they were brought to Sri Lanka on March 15, 2023 after the arrest from Madagascar.
Sources of the Criminal Investigation Department said that these phones had many phone numbers and information that could be important for future investigations.
