The Trade Minister, Nalin Fernando, has stated that in the upcoming weeks, strict measures will need to be implemented to control the prices of goods, despite the decrease in inflation.
He further mentioned that several gazette announcements containing price controls are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
The Minister emphasized that despite the claims made by traders, the prices of goods should be lowered in accordance with the concessions provided thus far. It is considered unfair for those who are making substantial profits to deliberately keep prices high.
