The main suspect in the shooting and killing of five people at the Beliatta expressway entrance, Saman Kumara, has been arrested, the police said. Apart from that, the MITSUBISHI jeep bearing number 65-2615 used for the crime has been seized by the police.
Police say that the suspect was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
The arrest was made by a team of officers including the Hakmana Police Station Officer under the supervision of the officer in charge of Matara division.
