It is reported that the daily operations and management of highways have been handed over to the private sector under a management agreement from today (01).
It is stated that after a legal and financial feasibility study jointly conducted by the Road Development Authority and the private sector, all relevant assets are to be transferred to them within six months.
The relevant cabinet paper was submitted by the Minister of Transport and Highways, Mr. Bandula Gunawardena, to the cabinet meeting held on the 25th.
