The case against State Minister Chamara Sampath Dasanayake for kneeling is withdrawn.

The fundamental rights petition filed before the Supreme Court against Chamara Sampath Dissanayake, the former chief minister of Uva province, regarding the kneeling of the principal of Badulla Tamil Girls High College was withdrawn .

The case was withdrawn in this manner as the two parties settled the matter at the Badulla Conciliation Board.

Through this petition, the victim principal sought a declaration that her fundamental rights had been violated by the then Chief Minister and the provincial education authorities.

Petitioner Bavani Ragunath has mentioned five persons including Uva Provincial Chief Minister Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, Uva Provincial Education Ministry Secretary, Uva Provincial Education Director and Minister as respondents.
