Sri Lanka-Afghanistan Test Match The Sri Lanka team won by 10 wickets in the first Test match held at the SSC Stadium.
Afghanistan batted first and scored 198 runs for their first innings.
Rahmat scored 91 runs. In bowling, Asita Fernando took 3 wickets for 24 runs, Vishwa Fernando took 4 wickets for 51 runs and Prabhat Jayasuriya managed to take 3 wickets for 67 runs.
In response, the Sri Lankan team scored 439 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Angelo Mathews scored 141 runs and Dinesh Chandimal scored 107 runs for the first innings.
Chamika Gunasekara was a bit shocked after Naveed Sadran’s ball hit the helmet. He continued to stay on the field but left the field after 3 overs due to some discomfort in his debut match.
Kasun Rajitha was called for the Sri Lanka team in the second innings instead of Chamika Gunasekara.
Afghanistan scored 296 for their second innings, giving Sri Lanka an easy target of 56 runs to win.
In the second innings,Ibrahim Sadran, who scored his maiden Test century, for 114 runs. which was a headache for the Sri Lankan bowlers, Prabhat Jayasuriya managed to bowl out
In the second innings, Prabhat Jayasuriya took 5 wickets, while Asita Fernando took 3 wickets and Kasun Rajitha took 2 wickets.
The Sri Lankan team chased down an easy target of 56 runs and managed to win that target without losing anyone. Dimuth Karunaratne scored 32 runs unbeaten and Madushka scored 22 runs unbeaten.
