The government has decided to dissolve the multi-purpose development force department, which started by adding a workforce of thirty-eight thousand by the previous government to provide a solution to the employment problem.
According to former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s Vision of Prosperity Manifesto, this department will start on December 19, 2020, targeting a workforce of 100,000.
100,000 with minimum educational qualifications were selected and given formal vocational training, they were recruited to fulfill the service requirements of government and semi-government primary category vacancies.
It was decided to recruit 3,000 people to the railway department based on the vacancies in the ministries and the rest of the people were sent to the vacancies in the provincial councils under the posts of watchmen and laborers.
