It is reported that a social media activist Priyat Nikeshala has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department.
He was reportedly arrested after the Criminal Investigation Department was summoned for a statement regarding the publication of a recorded phone conversation between Public Security Minister Tiran Alas and another social media activist on his YouTube channel.
Piyath Nikeshala was also arrested in June last year for broadcasting live on social media the burning of President Ranil Wickramasinghe’s private house in Colombo on July 09, 2022.
