Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, says that it will be possible to reach a principled agreement with the commercial creditors in the next 2 months regarding the restructuring of the country’s foreign debt.
Presenting the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s annual policy statement today (10), the Governor of the Central Bank stated this.
Mr. Nandalal Weerasinghe mentioned that he has reached an agreement in principle regarding the debt restructuring with the official creditors and China Exim Bank and is successfully negotiating with other creditors.
