A mother who had inciting her 7-year-old son steal phones from the parents of patients being treated at the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital in Colombo has been remanded in custody.
When the child was interrogated, the child said that the mother had told him to bring the mobile phones and if he did not do so, she would beat them. The child has also said that his mother will give the mobile phones that brings him to his father.
Complaints have also been received that the mother of a child receiving residential treatment at the hospital has taken a phone worth around 40,000 rupees and ran away.
Police say that the suspect’s mother has been remanded until the 5th.
