According to the Inland Revenue Department, the number of people registered with Tax Payer Identification Number (TIN) in Sri Lanka is currently close to one million.
In addition, the department said that there is a remarkable growth in the number of companies paying taxes.
The number of registered tax-paying companies in 2022 was 73,444, which increased to 81,909 as of November 30. This year its progress is reported to be 10%.
