Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has instructed officials to stop issuing excise licenses in Maharagama Divisional Secretariat. According to the report, the Prime Minister has given these instructions while participating in the Maharagama regional coordination committee meeting.
In addition to obtaining permits to run liquor stores, the Prime Minister has also given instructions to suspend the issuance of temporary excise licenses for music shows and carnivals.
